Coronado Cross
  • One mile east of Fort Dodge on Highway 400
  • The Cross marks the spot where Francisco Vasquez de Coronado, a Spanish explorer, is said to have crossed the Arkansas River in search of the fabled 'Cities of Gold" in 1541

Cowboy Statue 

  • Fourth Avenue and Spruce
  • This statue was erected in 1927 of lawman Joe Sughrue.

Gospel Hill Churches

Longhorn Park

  • A small herd of longhorn cattle graze on prairie grass in a 40 acre park. Dedicated to the millions of wild Texas longhorns driven to Dodge City during the 1870s and 1880s

Santa Fe Depot & Sun Dials

  • The largest train depot still standing in the state. Historic tours are available by appointment. Outside the facility, historic twin sundials have been renovated to show both Central and Mountain time

100th Meridian Marker

  • Central and Wyatt Earp Boulevard
  • The story board located at the Depot describes the importance of the 100th Meridian and the location of the actual marker

  • Only veterans memorial containing both armed forces and reservists

Stan Herd Mural

  • Second Avenue and Spruce
  • Modeled from a Fredrick Remington painting, this mural is an excellent example of this famous local artist

Wyatt Earp Statue

  • Central Avenue and Wyatt Earp Boulevard
  • Located across from the Santa Fe Depot, a highlight along the Trail of Fame
