This year is our 142nd Anniversary and we will be back! Founded in 1879 by Chalkley Beeson, the Cowboy Band is part of the fabric of Dodge City. Early performances by the band included a performance at the Inauguration of President Benjamin Harrison in 1889. The band also regularly played in front of the Long Branch Saloon. In the 1930's, the band was reconstituted as the Dodge City Municipal Band and later added back the "Cowboy Band" moniker. This season will begin on Tuesday, June 15th at the Wright Park Band Shell built for the band in 1934.
